ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

ABSTRACTS must be submitted according to the following guidelines:

1. The abstract must be written in English with a maximum of 500 words, in a Microsoft Word document, and sent to  lasove2019@gmail.com 

2. Font type: Times New Roman; Font size: 12 pt; Spacing: double spacing; Title must be in bold

3. Author's name: Full name and surname, if the author has middle names these must be indicated with initials and without a period (for example: Juan M Rodrigues); if there is more than one author, the names must be separated by commas (for example: Juan M Rodrigues, Maria S Perez).

4. Affiliation: institutional affiliation must be indicated for each author below the list of authors; if the author is affiliated with more than one institute, this must be indicated with Roman numerals in superscript (for example: Juan M Rodrigues I II).

5. The author that presents the work must have his/her name underlined.

6. The abstract should include Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion and Conclusion.

7. Name the file according to the first author’s name (for example: Rodrigues.doc). If the same author submits more than one abstract, differentiate the files by using consecutive numbers after the name (for example: Rodrigues1.doc and Rodrigues 2.doc)

8. Only the abstracts of those participants whose registration is confirmed before October 15, 2019, will be processed (confirmation is subject to registration payment).

9. Indicate if you want your abstract to be considered for oral presentation ("turbo talk") or as a poster.

10. “Turbo talk” presentations should be made in PowerPoint and written in English (although you can speak in Spanish or Portuguese).

11. Poster size: 92 cm wide and 120 cm high, with vertical orientation.

KEY THEME: Prevention, vector control and eradication of neglected vector-borne diseases in Latin America

Abstracts covering vector-borne diseases (Arboviruses, Chagas, Leishmaniasis, Filariasis or Malaria) should fit in to one of the following secondary themes:

 

1 - Prevention, Control or Interventions that affect vector capacity;

2 - Ecology of vectors that transmit neglected diseases;

3 - Biological and physiological aspects of the pathogen/vector interaction;

4 - Public policies for the control of vector-borne diseases;

5 - Genomics / Transcriptomics / Proteomics / Metagenomics of insect vectors;

6 - Relationship between climatic and environmental variables with vectors of medical importance.

 

Deadline for Registration and Abstract Submission: 10th of November, 2019

Inaugural Meeting of LA SOVE, Latin American Society for Vector Ecology, to be held in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, from the 20th to the 24th of November, 2019.
